The Chiefs and the people of Sapeiman a farming community at Ga West Municipality in the Greater Accra Region have warned that whosoever is engaged in anything that has to do with gay must stop immediately else they will deal with the person mercilessly.

According to the Sapeiman Mantse (Chief), Nii Sarpei Agbeterkor in an interview with NATIONAL TYMES, they would not entertain anybody who will mistakenly be practicing LGBTQ +….. on his land.
Nii Agbeterkor stated unequivocally that they shall stripped necked anyone caught practicing the LGBTQ + and the person would be paraded on the streets of Sapeiman and molest the person to serve as a deterrent to all others in the area.

In another issue, Nii Sarpei Agbeterkor called on the government to provide them with a Secondary School in the area to ease congestion and the double track system that is seriously bedeviling teaching and learning.
Nii Agbeterkor explained that in 1994 he ensured students who travel to attend Junior High School (JHS) far away in Kunse though within the Ga West Municipality, are provided with JHS block to reduce the distance which these students travel to access JHS education.

Sarpeiman Mantse also urged the government to tarred the roads connecting through to Kasoa from Nsawam for those who are going that area to reduce vehicular traffic on the Pokuase stretch.
HOMOWO, which means “SHAME to HUNGER”, is a yearly festival for the people of Ga-Dangme Ethnic groups in Ghana and is preceded with ban on drumming/noice making across the Greater Accra Region.

Various Municipalities and Districts place this ban for a month in turns across the region to pave way for a successful food harvest prior to the celebration of the Homowo festival.
In his area, Nii Sarpei Agbeterkor explained that a week after Lante-Djan quarters, where they come from sprinkles the Kpekpoi, he also sprinkles in his community and followed by other communities in that order.

He indicated that the COVID-19 pandemic is a serious barrier to the celebration of the Homowo in since its outbreak in the country, because of the restrictions and the protocols they have to adhere to prevent infections and the spread of the pandemic.
To this, he charged that the celebration should be in moderation so that no one gets infected with this deadly Coronavirus.
The festival drew lots of people who throng the palace after following the elders to sprinkle the kpokpoi round the Sarpeiman Community.

Present at the event were Nii Dromo, Sarpeiman Dzaasetse; Sarpeiman Asafo-Atse Akweiteh Omugu; Sarpeiman Queen Mother, Naa Dede Abrewaa and Naa Okailey Ajorbo, Taifa Queen Mother amongst other elders and opinion leaders.
