The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Democratic Congress has stated its readines to contest the recently-conducted general elections at the Supreme Court, SC.
The NEC, on December 29, 2020 after a crunch meet the party filed to contest the results of the rigged elections at the Supreme Court and decided to also pursue the matter in other appropriate fora.
In addition, the NEC indicated the party will continue all legitimate actions, including protestations, to press home its demands for the government of President Akufo-Addo to enforce the rule of law and protect lives and property in Ghana.
The meeting further posited that they would in particular take all necessary measures to bring to swift justice those responsible for the murders and injuries and destruction of properties before, during, and in the aftermath of the general elections.
In a statement issued by the General Secretary of the NDC in Accra, Johnson Asiedu Nketia stated the NDC shows commitment to uphold the Constitution and its respect for human rights shall remain unshaken.
