The Eastern Regional first Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga has alleged that former President John Dramani Mahama has made a derogatory statement which seemed to insult the intelligence of the people of Abuakwa North Constituency.
Alhaji Umar Bodinga indicated former President John Mahaman said in the local parlance that, “s3 NPP de aponkye kuraaa ba mu b3 to amano”, which literally means if the NPP picks a ‘goat’ as their candidate they will be voted for it, this chairman described as “very hilarious” and he demands that President JM comes to retract and apologize to the people within one week.
Vice chairman Alhaji Umar Bodinga aka field Marshal posited that former President JDM on two occasions has been making such unacceptable statement which purports to describe the people of Abuakwa North Constituency as senseless.
Vice chairman Babs Bodinga urged President JDM during a mega walk which coincide with the Eastern Regional Elephant Day celebration, where he gave JDM 1 week ultimatum to retract and apologize for his unacceptable statement against them.
Vice Chairman Babs Bodinga further alleged that former President John Mahama promised to commence serious investigation into the killing of JB Danquah Adu, the late MP for Akyem Abuakwa North Constituency.
He alleged the late JB Danquah Adu died in the regime of President John Dramani Mahama and not a single investigation was made at that time, and he looked unconcerned because JB was not an NDC member.
The people of Akyem Abuakwa North and the Bretuo family at old Tafo mounted a huge banner with the picture of the late legislature at the forecourt of the Bretuo palace with thousands of signatures trying to seek Justice for the soul of the Hon MP, the late JB, Mr John Mahama and his administration refused to attend to us.
Alhaji Umar Bodinga further argued that, “you (JM) could not make any effort to look into the murder case, and yet you are in the region seeking for votes, peddling lies claiming you will commence investigation into the death of Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu, is even an insult to bring his name in your manifesto”.
“…..again to the NDC and Mr John Mahama, Eastern Region we don’t vote for goats and sheep to represent our Constituency in parliament as you claimed. We are giving him 1 solid week to point at any MP who is a goat in the Abuakwa constituency or he should retract and Apologize to us or else you and your NDC will witness a big protest ever in your political life”, Alhaji Bodinga lamented.
