President Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo has over week entered La Dade-Kotopon Municipality nicodemusly to commission one of the NDC market complex.

La Dade-Kotopon Market Complex

The people of La Dade-Kotopon who expected the project to be completed between 2017/18 have realised the Nana Addo led NPP government needed the project for votes from the people hence, the delay and lookworm attitude until commissioning over the week.

The total cost for the Hon. Rita Nana Odoley market complex was Ghc 5.4 million, with Ghc 1 million being Internally Generated Funds (IGF) and Ghc 4.4 million of Common Fund. The magnificent edifice is comprise of 210 sheds, 56 stores, 2 banking halls, washrooms and landscaping.

The edifice is expected to help improve the IGF base of the Assembly in order to reduce over dependence on the central government subvention or transfers.

It is also to boost trade and industry growth and to create jobs for the local people and reduce the dangers of overcrowding as experienced in the old market, especially in this time of deadly COVID-19.

According to some information Nationaltymes.com picked during the commissioning, Nana Akuffo-Addo who could not boast of any major project entered the municipality nichodemosely to commission the market.

Former La Dade-Kotopon MCE, Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, aka Nye Awo Kpakpa left the market project at about seventy-seven per cent complete in 2017, and out of ‘hatred’ the project was suspend deliberately for close twenty months.

Former President John Mahama (JM) with his hard working former MCE, Hon. Rita Odoley – Nye Awo Kpakpa has lots of projects in La Municipality, this includes GIFFARD road through to East Legon flower port, the Bank Hospital amongst others.

Some of the people who witnessed the opening of the Hon. Rita Odoley La Market Complex hinted that even Nye Awo Kpakpa has done better than President Akuffo-Addo and his appointees in the municipality.

Nye Awo Kpakpa could boast of the new La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA) ultramodern office complex housing the staff and the Assembly members of the municipality; created LaDMA office extension opposite El-Wak Sports Stadium near Burma Camp; she was responsible for the fencing of most of the schools in the municipality; construction of some drainage system; roads at Tse-Addo and many other things.

After President Akuffo-Addo commissioned the ‘Rita Odoley NDC’ Market Complex, some of the La people told this portal that he (Nana Addo) failed to tell them the exact date his government intends to start construction of La General Hospital he came to demolish closed to 9 weeks.
