The Okaikwei North Constituency of the National Democrstic Congress, NDC in the Greater Accra Region has finally launched its campaign team to take part in the ‘national rescue mission’ the NDC is embarking on led by former President John Dramani Mahama.
National Tymes gathered from grapevine that for fear of losing the seat, the governing New Patriotic Party, NPP MP/PC, Fusseini payed people to work in whatever means to truncate the move by the NDC PC, madam Theresa Lardi Awuni and the party from launching their campaign team.
According to Theresa Lardi Awuni, who the people wanted as their next MP this time around, pointed out that the government failed to live up to expectation for the people of Okaikwei North to see changes in their lives as Nana Addo promised.
Delivering her maiden speech she indicated the constituency has given the NPP 24 consecutive years and the people are yet to see anyone development and changes. ‘Obaanaa’ as Okaikwei North affectionately called her, promised to bring real transformation to them and the area.
The NDC Parliamentary Candidate, PC, Madam Theresa Lardi Awuni, assured the people of Okaikoi North of going to be a mother for all not for few unlike what the incumbent is doing by sharing food and covid money to only a few people believing to be his party people during the lockdown.
She added that even though she is the not the MP, but during the lockdown she was able to share food and other items to each and everyone in the Constituency through a door to door delivery.
According to her, based on the track record of NDC in terms of infrastructure, social amenities and tremendous road network were delivered during the tenure of the NDC.
She was optimistic that she is going to unseat the Hon Fusieni come 2020 general elections by 65% and increased H.E. John Dramani Mahama votes in Okaikoi North Constituency.
Madam Theresa Awuni promised to support the various women groups to boost their businesses and their entrepreneurship; with NDC in power Okaikwei North Constituency youth would see transformation in their lives so that the NPP MP, Fusseini will not insult and described them as scammers who do not want to work, she stated.
She argued that the youth under Nana Addo, Bawumia led ruling NPP, are suffering and the probability for some to go wayward was high due to difficult system Nana Addo created in the Country.
Theresa Lardi Awuni, ‘Obaanaa’ who is a serious threat to the NPP lamented the Nana Akuffo-Addo government has messed up the country making everyone ‘crying’ because prices of goods and services are sky rocketing.
She hinted the NPP MP has used his common funds meant for development of the area to fund his campaign prior to their party’s primaries where he payed delegates huge sums of money for his re-election all because he has no records to convince his own people as MP in the constituency.
Okaikwei North Constituency NDC PC aka Obaanaa who happens to be the Choice of the people informed the massive crowd who throng the Achimota school park that the NDC People’s Manifesto has a lot for everyone.
She also informed the massive crowd of apprenticeship with pay and equipping those who would pass out with tools and supporting funds. The manifesto provision for those who are interested in other vocations, this shows the NDC has plans for everyone, she indicated.
In addition, the event hinted creation of one million jobs for the youth, the $10 million big push which would create jobs in all the sectors of the economy and also the ’50/50′ fees for students entering into any of the country’s tertiary institutions.
To this effect, the event has every reason to think that “4 more for Nana” is very dangerous because even the NPP itself has ‘no manifesto message’ to govern for another term based on their failure.
The Campaign manager, Mr. Eric k Houadjeto in an interview with National Tymes, urged everyone in the constituency to help NDC to return to power to restore the lost glories due to poor performance after Nana Addo deceived Ghanaians who gave him the mandate to rule.
He indicated the wind of change is blowing across the country was in favour of the NDC going into elections 2020, and by the close of December 7, former President John Dramani Mahama would be pronounced the President elect and madam Theresa Lardi Awuni as next MP for Okaikwei North Constituency.
National and the Greater Accra Regional Executives and some former and current MPs stole the function as they took turns to address the crowd in a number of issues at Achimota park in the Okaikwei North Constituency.
