The people of La Dade-Kotopon Municipality have joined the rest of Ghanaians to expose Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo who chose ’empty’ sod cutting as a campaign message over commissioning of projects from Ghc145 billion loans in his fourth year of governance.
Ghanaians appeared to have realized the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP have no manifesto message hence resulted in deceitful sod cutting to lieu Ghanaians into voting again for Nana Addo, 76, in the coming December 7 general elections.
However, he (Nana Addo) was remainded that former President John Dramani Mahama/NDC was seen commissioning projects across the country at this of 2016 and secured funding and has drawing prepared for major projects like the Pokuase, Obetsebi Lamptey interchanges etc. that are currently going on under the supervision of President Akuffo-Addo.
Special guest at the campaign team and introduction NDC PC, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo, the NDC National Chairman hinted Nana Addo has no campaign message so he is forced to carry sod cutting machine with him to be cutting sods in lieu to deceive chiefs and people for votes.
In some instances, he said Nana Addo at some places cut sod and told the people the projects would start in seven months later. Chairman Ampofo who’s also from Kyebi disclosed Nana Addo went to cut so for the second phase of the Kejetia market John Mahama built leaving the main market that is awaiting commissioning for close to 4 years now.
During the ntroduction of La Dade-Kotopon NDC Parliamentary Candidate, PC, Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, it was further revealed Nana Akuffo-Addo directed the demolition of La General Hospital for a new one.
After the sod cutting for the past one month, no contractor is on site till date, this, he argued that the NPP and Nana Addo came just to deceive the people of La again this time with sod cutting for their votes in the upcoming general elections.
But Chairman Ampofo charged Ghanaians to open their eyes wide to see through the cunning nature of Nana Addo and NPP. All the other guests speakers took turns to address the crowd who throng Kojo sardine lorry station in La, Accra.
On her part, the NDC PC, Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, former award winner as MCE for La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA) outlined all her vision when the people voted for her as the MP.
Based on her track records as social worker and MCE for the area, she promised the youth who are interested in IT, with equipped ITC library with experts to offer them free training in IT.
Hon. Naa Odoley Sowah aka ‘Nye Awo Kpakpa’, also promised to ensure youth in sports are supported to grow their sports profession to enable them to improve and better their living and their family.
Nye Awo Kpakpa cited training a number of women and youth in various entrepreneurship and they are today earning a decent living. Others also from her social and corporate responsibility became University graduates and they are working to take of their families.
To this effect, she promised to do it better when the electorates gave her nod to represent them as next MP for La Dade-Kotopon to support JM to bring development for all.
She revealed starting the La market complex which was about 89% complete, but the NPP is engaged in ‘lakadisical’ attitude towards completing and commissioning the market to allow the market women there to operate the complex; this, Hon. Rita Naa Odoley pleading with the Assembly to complete the market for her fellow La women to start using it.
This amongst many other projects the current MCE, and MP appeared not prepared to complete and handover for the public use.
She promised to re-construct the prisons market which was not in good shape when given the nod as La MP. The former Ladma MCE also promised to empower the women especially the women groups to start or improve their occupation in the Constituency.
