THE FOUR-FAMILY of Danchira, a suburb of Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region are yet to believe that a a lower court in Ghana could have the temerity to throw out a judgment by the Supreme Court of the land.

The parcels of Danchira land belong to the FOUR-FAMILY together with three other families, which constitute a composite family of four who jointly own the land.
According to these Four family, they have had three (3) judgements; High Court, Supreme Court and review of the Supreme Court with 5 Judges over the ownership of Danchira lands; after they lost at the Appeals’ court in Accra. But a Human Rights Court disagreed with all these rulings and ruled for the affluent defendants.
To this effect, the four families are calling on the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Attorney General, Godfred Dame and the Chief Justice, Mrs. Gertrude Araaba Torkornoo to intervene quickly and decisively in the latest ruling that aims to take what is rightfully theirs before the tensions get worse.

In a petition the four families sent to the aforementioned authorities, they explained that the on-going dispute over the parcels of Danchira land exists between them and J.F.K.A. Company Limited and Nii Tackie Amoah Vi.
Adding, it states that the four composite families (FOUR-FAMILY) had owned and occupied the Danchira lands for all of recorded time. They had also exercised their exclusive rights to possession and ownership by farming the land and granting portions to various grantees.
The petition further indicated that, as a sign of their superior right of possession and ownership of the land, the FOUR-FAMILY and their grantees worship a number of Shrines that are positioned throughout the property. However, Nii Tackie Amoah VI and F.K.A. Company Limited intend to use all means to snatch the land from them (FOUR-FAMILY).
The Four-family were acknowledged as the land’s owners following the Supreme Court’s ruling in 2016, which they asserted was the result of a lawsuit filed by Nii Tackie Amoah Vi and J.F.K.A. Company Limited against them.
But Nii Tackie Amoah Vi and J.F.K.A. Company Limited refused to accept the Supreme Court’s ruling, and they then went for review (appeal) and lost the case again.
The Four-Family has prevailed in all of its legal battles, that were fought in the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal. In spite of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal rulings, Nii Tackie Amoah Vi and J.F.K.A. Company Limited have taken the same case to human rights court.

The FOUR-FAMILY is unhappy about information that seems to be pointing to an overruling by the human rights court against them.
However, in an interview with Nationaltymes.com Reporter, the four-family promised to keep using the legal system to prevent encroachers on their lands.
They bemoaned that they do not want to use violent means to reclaim their lands, in view of this, they are requesting that the Attorney General, Chief Justice, and President of the Republic of Ghana intervene and settle the dispute.
Below are the documents of the Supreme Court and Appeal Court ruling.
