THE REFUSAL OF Electoral Commission (EC) to carry on with the forensic audit of the 2024 elections equipments due to alarming irregularities whilst institutions such as the Peace Council look on happily.

The National Peace Council appears to be disappointing as their only interest is on parties signing the peace park, and not national call for free, fair, credible and transparent elections.
Following the suspicions by the opposition National DemocraticCongress (NDC) in relation to missing of five (5) BVDs and BVRs belonging to the EC, and unpardonable mistakes during the voter exhibition exericse across the country; the NDC calls for a forensic audit of these election equipments and the voter register.
This call is prominent due to the fact that during the last voter exhibition exercise there were ‘abnormal’ voter transfers and proxies. These problems were anticipated by the opposition NDC due to the manner in which the EC boss, and her deputies – Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensah, Dr. Bossman Asare and Mr. Tettey were managing the processes leading to 2024 polls.

Their (EC) actions raised lots of eyebrows in the country also with the reason that the government has made one of its party communications officers, Dr. Peter Appiahene an expert in IT, to be on the board the institution (EC) and others in sensitive positions; therefore all these steps they take geared towards how to help rig the elections for the governing NPP.
To the effect, the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has announced planned demonstrations on 17th September to force the Electoral Commission of Ghana to conduct an independent audit of the national voter roll. The demonstrations according to the chairman will take place at the offices of the EC in all 16 regions of Ghana.
The NDC nationwide demonstration slated for Tuesday, September 17, 2024, is dubbed “Enough is Enough Demonstration.
