NGO APPEALS FOR SUPPORT FOR 18 DILAPIDATED SCHOOL BUILDINGS IN THE ASSIN NORTH DISTRICT

A Non-Governmental Organization, NGO, dubbed “Network for Assin Development, (NAD)” is appealing to the government to urgently come to the aid of some schools in the Assin District of the Central Region.

The NGO is also appealing to other NGOs in education and individuals to come in to assist these schools in their sorry state for a good classroom blocks to enhance teaching and learning.

According to the Executive Director/Founder, Mr. Samuel Adobah, during the 4th edition of its “Boanimdea Project” to donate Furniture, school uniforms, and other learning materials to the Assin Dwenakye community school, they realised some schools needed good classrooms for learning.

The “Boanimdea Project” by NAD, is meant to support deprived communities and schools that are in need in the Assin land.

The identified 18 deplorable schools by NAD include, Tweapease Bask School; Simpa Kg/Primary; Kushea Ninkyiso Kg/Primary; Subinso African Faith Basic; Asuoankomaso Kg/Primary; Nkranfuom Basic School; Pewodie Kg/Primary School; Kadadwen DA Kg/Primary School; Donkorkrom DA Basic School and Ntowkrom DA Basic School.

Others are Adukrom Asuogya DA Basic School; Wawase DA Basic Shool; Nyame Nnae DA Basic School; Odumase Wawase DA Basic School; Camp C. DA Kg/Primary; Basofi Ningo, Camp C; Kojo Benyin DA Kg/Primary School; Sekanbodua DA Basic School and Sekanbodua Dwendamba MA Basic School.

Mr. Adobah urged the people to take education seriously to help build a better future for their children, that’s why quality education starts from a good foundation.

He stated that, much attention should be given to children in the deprived communities by stakeholders in education in order to achieve the SDG’s goal 4. The Executive Director further hinted that NAD is gathering data of all schools facing challenges in the 3 districts of Assin to help mobilize resources effectively to help address them.

NAD slated its “Boanimdea Project” for 20th January 2022, as part of its (NGO’s,) vision to support deprived communities in the region.

The non-profit organization, NAD, was established in 2017 by a group of educated, dynamic and like-minded youth who are interested in the socio-economic development of the Assin District in the Central Region.

The aim is to mobilize resources to help address the developmental challenges confronting the people of Assin District of the Central Region.

The Project Coordinator, Rev. Stephen Arthur added that the organization, since its inception has distributed over 5,000 educational materials to support some schools in Assin land. He disclosed that building materials were also donated to the Assin Brofoyedur M/A basic school last year to renovate some blocks which were destroyed by the rain storm.

Rev. Stephen Arthur also made a passionate appeal to individuals and benevolent organizations to come in support of the course.
