The Hon Member of Parliament, MP for the people of Ayawaso East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Mc Nasser Mahama Toure was presented with the trophy of the football Gala his Constituency won over the weekend.
The tournament was organised purposely to energize the NDC grassroots ahead of the anticipated party reorganisation across the country.
The four (4) constituencies in Accra who participated in the competition were the Ayawaso East; Okaikwei Central; Ayawaso Central and Ayawaso North Constituencies respectively.
East Ayawaso Constituency emerged winner by beating its counterpart from Ayawaso Central by 2 goals to 1 to lift the trophy astake.
Receiving the cup, Hon Mc Nasser commanded the organisers, NDC Grassroots Alliance (NGA) for the healthy competition they brought amongst the constituencies and the unique motive behind the event.
He iterated that if such games could continue it will definitely re-energize the Grassroots prior to party reorganisation in the various constituencies to prepare everyone towards elections 2024.
Hon Mc Nasser, a business tycoon has been one of those who welcomed the idea and contributed to the success of it.
According to NGA, for sometime now no party activities are going on amongst the NDC faithfuls in their various constituencies across the Greater Accra Region, hence the need for them (NGA) to introduce this maiden football gala.
They indicated that the tournament was organised purposely to bring all the grassroots support base together to remind them a common but difficult agenda come 2024.
This also forms part of their quest to re-energize and reorganise the grassroots for the 2024 elections victory which awaiting the country.
The football Gala further aimed at unearthing football talents amongst the youth who would need support to join the national league teams at all levels.
Presenting the trophy, the Captain of the winning side, Ismaila Ali Horoya who doubles as the Greater Accra Regional NDC Zango Caucus Coordinator led some of his team mates to also commended the MP for his usual cooperation anytime his support is needed in such events.
He hinted the Hon. MP that the organisation of the event was also in conjunction with the Greater Accra NDC Zango Caucus, and as an ardent supporter of the Caucus and the MP for the area that won the gala, they deemed it necessary to dedicate and present the trophy to him.
The Hon Member of Parliament, MP, Mc Nasser with the support of his Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Ola Boddy Williams and some Executives received the trophy from the team Captain, some of his team mates with the support of the NGA members.
