The Municipal Chief Executive for Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly, Hon. Kofi Ofori has urged candidates who participated in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination ( BECE) to demonstrate enough integrity and excellence to bring laurels to themselves, their families and the municipality at large.

The MCE even though the BECE question papers and other confidential materials were under strict surveillance to ensure that the papers did not leak before and during the Examination, he was optimistic the candidates in his municipality would sail through.

According to Hon. Ofori, petior to the examination, all the Covid-19 safety protocols were observed during the examination, adding that all candidates were given hand sanitizers.

He said should a candidates fall sick and a medical report is available, a committee would look into the situation and take a decision.

Hon.Ofori indicated he had advised the candidates to adhere to rules and regulations governing the BECE examination, and he was highly spirited the children would make the grade for free SHS come what may.

A total number of 2,942 candidates sat for the last BECE examination at 13 centres.
There were 1477 candidates from the public schools and 1465 from the private schools within the Ablekuma North Municipality.
