The Overlord of Oblieman  a surbub of Ga West Municipality of in the GreaterAccra, Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka I, has registered about seven hundred  twelve (712) children with the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS for free.

300 out of the 712 children have their cards renewed whilst the rest, 412 were newly registered children. This makes 13% of the children in and around Oblieman and beyond who were captured and given free NHIS cards.

The exercise which is an annual programme, forms part of his activities to mark this year’s Homowo festival.

In his brief speech with newsmen at his Oblieman palace in the Ga West Municipality, Nii Anumle I, explained that the health of his people are paramount to him hence the exercise.

This 3 days registration also forms part of various developmental activities that the residents would be benefiting, he said.

Nii Ayitey Anumle I, posited that “leadership is not about your age and how fast you can sell lands, but it is how you can make your people look healthy and bring policies and programs that will benefit the future leaders”.

Nii Oblieman indicated that despite various challenges facing the entire nation, he is striving hard to prioritise education in his catchment area.

This according to him, would make education compulsory to all children at school-going age in his jurisdiction.

The parents of these beneficiary children hinted National Tymes in an interview that both the renewals and new registrations were timely enough because it is difficult for them to come by money in recent times.

To this effect, they asked for God’s blessing, wisdom and long life for Nii Oblieman to enable him continue with his good intentions for them. They further disclosed that Nii Oblieman has intention to support children whose parents find it difficult to take them through primary school.

National Tymes spotted some youth pleading with the organisers to allow them to join the children to have the NHIS cards following difficulties to register for the NHIS cards.
