ASPIRANT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairmanship position, Hon. Dr. Akwasi Opong-Fosu, has taken his campaign message to delegates in Krachi West, Nkwanta South and Nkwanta North, combining lessons on the party’s history with his vision for its future.

During his engagements with the delegates, Dr. Opong-Fosu highlighted the founding principles, struggles and values of the NDC, stressing that a proper understanding of the party’s history was essential to building a stronger organisation capable of sustaining its political achievements.
He explained that the NDC needed leadership that understood the sacrifices of its founding members and remained committed to the collective interests of the party rather than personal ambitions.
A CALL FOR SELFLESS LEADERSHIP:
Dr. Opong-Fosu said the party had reached a critical stage in its political journey and therefore needed a National Chairman with experience, integrity, humility and a strong sense of responsibility.
According to him, the next National Chairman must be a unifier who can bring members together, strengthen the party’s structures and prepare it for future electoral challenges.

As part of his vision, he introduced a strategic framework known as the 3Vs – Votes, Voice and Viability, which he described as a practical approach to strengthening the NDC and securing its continued electoral success.
Explaining the first pillar, Votes, he said the party must develop effective strategies to protect and increase its electoral support through proper grassroots mobilisation and strong constituency and branch structures.
On Voice, Dr. Opong-Fosu stressed the need to empower ordinary party members and ensure that their concerns, contributions and ideas were heard and respected at all levels of leadership.
He noted that a party that listens to its grassroots members and involves them in decision-making stands a better chance of maintaining unity and winning elections.

The third pillar, Viability, focuses on strengthening the party’s organisational and financial capacity to make it sustainable, competitive and capable of winning elections and governing effectively.
INUSAH FUSEINI ENDORSES OPONG-FOSU:
Adding his voice to the campaign, former Member of Parliament for Tamale Central and renowned legal practitioner, Lawyer Dr. Inusah Fuseini, urged the delegates to support Dr. Opong-Fosu’s bid for the National Chairmanship position.
He described the aspirant as a unifier and strategist with the temperament, experience and leadership qualities needed to steer the NDC towards greater success.

Lawyer Fuseini encouraged the delegates to look beyond campaign promises and consider the candidate’s experience, commitment to the party and record of service to both the NDC and the nation.
He maintained that the party needed a leader who could bring its members together, protect its founding values and provide the strategic direction required to strengthen its position.
The campaign engagements in Krachi West, Nkwanta South and Nkwanta North form part of Dr. Opong-Fosu’s efforts to engage delegates across the country ahead of the NDC’s national executive elections.
Through his emphasis on the party’s history, selfless leadership and the 3Vs agenda, he is presenting a vision centred on grassroots participation, organisational strength and electoral success.
