THE Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Hon. Baba Jamal Mohammed Ahmed, has congratulated the newly elected constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), urging party members to unite behind the new leadership to advance the party’s interests and improve the lives of residents.

The Ayawaso East Constituency, popularly described as the NDC’s Star Constituency, held its executive elections over the weekend as part of the nationwide exercise conducted on October 24 and 25, 2026, across all 276 constituencies.
In a congratulatory message following the polls, Hon. Baba Jamal said the delegates had exercised their democratic right and urged all party members to respect their decision and work together for the good of the constituency.
“I write to express my heartfelt congratulations to all newly elected executives of our beloved constituency, East Ayawaso, the Star Constituency. The delegates have spoken, and all of us must respect their decision and be ready to work together in the interest of the party,” he stated.

The MP stressed that unity and cooperation among party members were essential to achieving meaningful progress and improving the welfare of the people.
“That is the only way we can bring progress to our people,” he emphasised.
Hon. Lawyer Baba Jamal, a former Deputy General Secretary of the NDC and former Member of Parliament for Akwatia, returned to Parliament in 2024 after winning the Ayawaso East seat for the party.
He urged the newly elected executives to be humble and magnanimous in victory, while appealing to those who lost their contests to remain patient and continue contributing to the party’s growth.
“It is my firm belief that all newly elected executives will be magnanimous in victory and those who lost will be patient and bide their time next time,” he said.

The MP further assured the new leadership and other contestants of his readiness to work with them, regardless of the outcome of the elections, to promote development and improve the living conditions of constituents.
“As your MP, I am ready and prepared to harmoniously work with you all, both winners and those who were not lucky, to improve the lives of our people,” he assured.
He concluded by congratulating the successful candidates and expressing the hope that their tenure would strengthen peace, harmony and cooperation within the constituency.

“Once again, congratulations, and may your tenure bring peace and harmony to our people,” he added.
Hon. Baba Jamal’s appeal comes as the NDC consolidates its constituency-level structures following the internal elections. Party unity and effective collaboration between elected executives and other stakeholders will be important in strengthening the party’s grassroots base and advancing development in Ayawaso East.
