HAJIA Sadia Sulley, the Ayawaso East NDC Deputy Women Organizer and a hopeful contender for the Women Organizer position, has announced plans to roll out a new skills training programme aimed at empowering young women in the constituency.
The initiative, which will run for four weeks, is part of her ongoing efforts to equip women—especially young ladies—with practical skills to help them earn a living and become financially independent. Over the years, Hajia Sadia Sulley has been actively involved in similar programmes designed to support women in improving their livelihoods.

This year’s training will focus on hands-on, income-generating skills such as locks styling, braiding, makeup artistry, gele tying, wig making, and tie-and-dye. These skills are in high demand and offer participants the opportunity to start their own small businesses or work independently.
Speaking ahead of the programme, she emphasized the importance of economic empowerment for women, particularly in challenging times. According to her, many young women in Ayawaso East face difficulties securing stable employment, making it necessary to provide them with alternative means of income.
She explained that the training will focus on practical, income-generating skills that participants can easily turn into small businesses or freelance work. The goal is to help beneficiaries become self-reliant and better positioned to support themselves and their families.
Hajia Sadia Sulley noted that the programme will especially benefit single mothers and unemployed young women who are striving to build a better future. She believes that by equipping them with the right skills, they will be able to overcome economic hardships and lead more meaningful lives.

“This initiative is about giving hope and opportunity to young women. When a woman is empowered, she can take care of her children and contribute positively to her community,” she said.
The upcoming training is expected to attract a large number of participants from across the constituency, reinforcing her commitment to women’s development and grassroots empowerment.
