PROSPECTIVE pilgrims from Ghana planning to take part in the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage will be required to pay a new slaughtering fee as part of their travel preparations.

The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has announced that each pilgrim must pay GH¢2,360, which is about $200, to cover the cost of the ritual animal sacrifice associated with the pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

According to the office, the fee forms part of new documentation requirements introduced by Saudi authorities and must be paid before a pilgrim’s Hajj visa can be processed.
The payment must be made to the official PAOG account at Stanbic Bank using the following details:
Account Name:
Pilgrims Affairs of Ghana
Bank:

Stanbic Bank Account Number: 9040006891211. The Pilgrims Affairs Office, working together with the Ghana Hajj Agents Association (GHAA), has urged all prospective pilgrims to comply with the directive and follow all official guidelines to ensure smooth preparations for the pilgrimage.

Officials also advised pilgrims to stay in contact with accredited Hajj agents for updates and guidance on the travel process. Pilgrims who need further information can contact the Pilgrims Affairs Office through the following channels:
Email: pilgrimghana@gmail.com
Phone: 0537383992 or 0243206171
WhatsApp: +233 537383992.

The announcement was jointly issued by Mohammed Amin Lamptey of the Pilgrims Affairs Office and Abbass Abdul Karim of the Ghana Hajj Agents Association.
