A MAJOR evaluation of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) covering the period 2015 to 2025 has officially commenced.
The initiative is being jointly commissioned by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, the Ministry of Finance, the Ghana School Feeding Programme, and the World Food Programme (WFP).
The goal of the evaluation is to assess the impact, challenges, and progress of the GSFP over the past decade and guide future improvements.

To this, a maiden hybrid meeting—both in-person and virtual—of the Evaluation Reference Group was held at the WFP Country Office in Accra. The meeting focused on reviewing the Evaluation Terms of Reference (ToR) and discussing key issues ahead of the exercise.
Present at the meeting were the National Coordinator of the GSFP, key management staff, the WFP Country Director and her team, and a cross-section of Evaluation Reference Group members.

The evaluation is expected to provide valuable insights into how the programme has supported school attendance, child nutrition, and local food economies, while also identifying areas for strategic reform.
Further engagements and field assessments are expected to follow in the coming months.
