THE NATIONAL Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially declared a party-wide mourning period in honour of the eight distinguished individuals who tragically lost their lives in the recent helicopter crash while serving the nation.

In a press statement issued by the Deputy Communication Officer, Godwin Ako Gunn, the party directed all its communicators to suspend all other engagements and focus exclusively on paying tribute to the deceased.

This directive aligns with the Government of Ghana’s announcement of a three-day national mourning period to remember the fallen statesmen and officers.

“These eight departed comrades were not only members of our party; they were patriots, public servants, and nation builders who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty,” the statement read.

The NDC is urging all members, regional and constituency executives, and grassroots supporters to join the rest of the country in honouring their memory with respect and unity.

The party emphasized that all communication activities from now until further notice must centre on mourning and reflection.

The deceased include high-ranking political and security figures whose passing has sent shockwaves across the nation and drawn tributes from all corners of Ghana’s political and civil landscape.

The NDC’s leadership expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families, President John Dramani Mahama, and all who worked closely with the departed.

“This is a moment of national sorrow, and we must honour it with the seriousness and reverence it deserves,” Mr. Ako Gunn stated.

The party reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the families and preserving the legacies of those who gave their lives in service to Ghana.
