
THE MINISTRY of Health has held a staff durbar on Friday, August 1, 2025 to officially introduce two new leaders; Mr. Desmond Boateng, Chief Director, and Hon. Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, MP and Deputy Minister of Health.
In a brief address, the Health Minister, Hon Kwabena Minta Akandoh emphasized the importance of building relationships with staff and fostering collaboration across the Ministry. “Our mission is to get to know your names and even your faces,” he said, highlighting the value of personal engagement.


Mr. Boateng, a seasoned civil servant with previous roles at the Ministries of Railways and Communications, pledged commitment to teamwork, discipline, and punctuality. “This is a family,” he said. “It will take hard work, hard work, hard work.”
Dr. Ayensu-Danquah, a medical doctor and MP, also pledged her support to the Minister and staff. “I’m here to help realise President Mahama’s vision of resetting the nation—and the health sector in particular,” she stated.


The durbar reflected a strong spirit of unity and reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to delivering quality healthcare and effective public service.
