THE La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA) has officially launched a comprehensive 12-year development plan designed to tackle pressing local challenges and deliver inclusive, people-focused growth.
Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alfredos Nii Anyetei described the initiative as a defining moment in La’s development journey. He called for unity, courage, and collective action to reimagine and transform the municipality.
He also paid tribute to past leaders, especially former MCE Hon. Solomon Kotey Nikoi, for laying the groundwork.
Unveiled in Accra under the theme “Shaping Our Destiny: A Roadmap for Transformation and Prosperity,” the plan outlines bold targets including the creation of over 5,000 decent jobs, improved infrastructure, expanded essential services, and 70% digitization of service delivery. It also seeks to strengthen local governance through accountability and openness.
Developed through extensive stakeholder consultations, the plan addresses critical issues such as flooding, poor drainage, waste mismanagement, and the growing impact of climate change. Proposed solutions include circular waste systems, sustainable infrastructure, and environmental resilience strategies.
LaDMA’s development strategy is aligned with President John Dramani Mahama’s Reset Agenda, and ensurs that local priorities contribute meaningfully to national development goals. Officials noted that while the plan is ambitious, it remains flexible to respond to evolving needs.
Stakeholders from government, traditional authorities, civil society, and the private sector are being urged to support, finance, and help monitor the plan to ensure long-term impact.
