THE MINISTRY of Energy and Green Transition has announced a major upgrade in Ghana’s natural gas supply by ENI, set to take effect from Sunday, July 13, 2025.
According to a press release signed by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Richmond Rockson, ENI will increase supply by 30 million standard cubic feet per day, raising the national total to 270 MMscfd.
The move is aimed at strengthening Ghana’s energy infrastructure and ensuring a more reliable power supply.
To implement this upgrade, ENI will temporarily suspend gas exports, which may impact gas availability for local power generation. However, the Ministry says it is working with power sector stakeholders to reduce disruptions. Measures include enhanced monitoring, contingency planning, and boosted local power generation.

The Ministry reassured the public of its commitment to a stable and sustainable energy future, thanking Ghanaians for their understanding during the transition.
