THE DISTRICT Chief Executive (DCE) for South Tongu, Madam Victoria Dzeklo, has shared her top five priorities to improve lives and speed up development in the area.

In an interview with Nationaltymes.com, Madam Dzeklo said her focus is on roads, health, education, accountability, youth employment, sanitation, and working closely with local leaders.

1. Roads, Health & Education:
She said fixing roads, improving health facilities, and solving classroom and teacher shortages are top priorities. “We’re working with central government and partners to fix our roads, build CHPS compounds, and get more teachers into classrooms,” she said.

2. Financial Transparency:
Madam Dzeklo said her office is open and transparent with public funds. “We’ll consider publishing our budget and explain spending at town hall meetings. All contracts follow legal processes,” she explained.

3. Jobs & Skills for the Youth:
To fight youth unemployment, she said the Assembly is working with NEIP and the Ghana Enterprises Agency to train young people in trades and business. “We also plan to build a vocational (TVET) centre for skills training,” Hon. DCE added.

4. Clean Environment:
She mentioned regular clean-up exercises and stricter by-laws to fight poor sanitation. Hon. Dzeklo called for support from NGOs for environmental education and waste recycling, especially as Zoomlion’s contract is ending.

5. Working with Chiefs:
Madam Victoria Dzeklo explained that the Assembly would strengthen working closely with chiefs, queen mothers, and community leaders to solve conflicts and plan development. “They are key partners in making our district better,” she stressed.

Her message shows a clear plan to bring real change through teamwork, openness, and support for the people.
