
THE CENTRE for Learning and Childhood Development (CLCD) has initiated talks with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to explore collaborative strategies aimed at enhancing child rights protection and early childhood development in Ghana.
At a high-level engagement in Accra, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, welcomed a delegation from CLCD, expressing deep appreciation for the organisation’s longstanding commitment to improving learning outcomes and supporting vulnerable children.
Dr. Lartey commended CLCD’s impactful work in the areas of early childhood development (ECD), child rights advocacy, and inclusive education. She stressed that building strong partnerships with organisations like CLCD was critical to advancing the Ministry’s child protection mandate.

The discussions focused on key areas for collaboration, including technical support for the implementation of national child welfare policies, data gathering on children with developmental delays, and the deployment of inclusive learning programmes across Ghana.
CLCD, known for its expertise in training, research, and field-level interventions, reinstating its readiness to work closely with the Ministry to drive evidence-based policies and community-focused initiatives that protect and promote the rights of all children.

Dr. Lartey highlighted that such partnerships are vital to accelerating the finalization and effective rollout of Ghana’s Child and Family Welfare Policy and the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Policy.
She emphasized the Ministry’s resolve to leverage institutional collaborations to build a more inclusive, responsive, and protective environment for children nationwide.
