THE CHIEF Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Dr. Mary Awusi, has iterated her commitment to deepening partnerships and promoting growth within the Free Zones enclave, following a working visit to three enterprises at the Tema Export Processing Zone (EPZ) over week.
The visit forms part of her broader stakeholder engagement strategy aimed at strengthening relationships, assessing operations firsthand, and addressing challenges faced by Free Zone Enterprises.

Dr. Awusi’s first stop was at AMP Logistics Limited, where she met with the CEO, Mr. Joe Forson and his team. She praised the company’s evolution into a leading logistics provider and commended their bold move into cocoa processing through the acquisition of Chocomac Ghana Limited, which will soon be rebranded as TF Commodities Limited.
“This kind of vertical integration into the cocoa value chain is exactly the kind of ambition we want to see within the Free Zones programme,” Dr. Awusi said; adding that AMP’s progress demonstrates both operational resilience and the positive impact of GFZA’s enabling policies.

She also visited Barry Callebaut Ghana Limited, where she met with Managing Director Mr. Ibrahim M. Menkeh and his team. The company expressed appreciation for the Authority’s responsiveness to their concerns, reinforcing the value of GFZA’s proactive leadership and open-door policy.
Dr. Awusi commended all three companies for aligning their operations with the government’s 24-Hour Economy Policy, describing it as a strategic framework for national transformation.

She was accompanied by Mr. Apau Wiredu Lateef, Deputy CEO for Operations, and other senior GFZA officials, whose participation she acknowledged as vital to the success of the visit.
“This engagement reinforces our resolve to create a business-friendly ecosystem where Free Zone Enterprises can innovate, expand, and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s economic development,” Dr. Awusi affirmed.
