THE OFFICIAL X (formerly Twitter) account of Ghana’s President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama (@JDMahama), has been compromised in a cybersecurity breach, according to a statement released by the Cyber Security Authority (CSA).
The hacked account was used to promote a cryptocurrency scheme called “Solana Africa.”The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, March 17, 2025, has raised serious concerns about digital security for government officials.
The CSA has assured the public that it is working closely with X and other relevant stakeholders to investigate the breach and prevent future occurrences.
“We understand the public concern this incident has generated and are actively addressing the situation,” the CSA stated.
As cybersecurity threats continue to target high-profile figures, the CSA has promised to provide further updates on the ongoing investigation.
