THE MINISTER for Environment, Science and Technology, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has outlined her key priorities under Ghana’s 100-day space agenda.
The agenda focuses on strengthening Ghana’s space sector and using space technology to drive national development.
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings, who took charge of the Ministry in September 2026, said her immediate focus is to deepen stakeholder participation in the implementation of Ghana’s Space Policy.
According to her, a major priority is to fast-track the institutional and legislative frameworks needed to establish the *Ghana Space Agency*.
The plan will also identify critical space infrastructure needs and capacity gaps that must be addressed.
She said government will expand partnerships with international space agencies, research institutions, development partners and the private sector to boost Ghana’s participation in space science and technology.
The 100-day agenda will also promote the use of satellite and geospatial data to strengthen climate resilience, improve environmental management and support national development planning.

Another key focus is to create opportunities for Ghanaian researchers, engineers, students and entrepreneurs to take part in space programmes and develop innovative local solutions.
The agenda further proposes a data coordination framework for institutions that generate and use space-related data, to improve collaboration and ensure such data supports national development.
Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings has stressed that her Ministry will use science, technology and innovation to advance national development while protecting the environment.
