THE MAJORITY Chief Whip in Parliament and Member of Parliament for South Dayi in the Volta Region, Hon. Rockson-Nelson Etse Dafeamekpor, has commended the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East Constituency, Hon. Lawyer Ahmed Mohammed Baba Jamal, for opening a constituency office to bring his services closer to the people.
Speaking at the opening of the office at Kanda Highway in Nima, Hon. Dafeamekpor said the facility would serve all constituents, regardless of their political affiliation. “The office is for all of us — CPP, PPP, NPP and off-course the NDC, and all other people who are not aligned,” he said.
According to him, the office would provide residents with a convenient point of contact for assistance with issues including hospital bills, school fees and support for market women.
Hon. Dafeamekpor also praised Hon. Baba Jamal for his long involvement in national politics and said his election as MP for Ayawaso East provided him with an opportunity to directly serve the people of Nima.
“It is his time to serve the people of Ayawaso East. Nima is Accra,” he said. Adding, he expressed confidence that the new office would improve the MP’s accessibility and enable constituents to easily bring their concerns to his attention. “From today, nobody from the constituency will say they cannot find him,” he added.
The South Dayi MP further encouraged other Members of Parliament to establish constituency offices and introduce practical initiatives, including interest-free loan schemes, to support constituents, particularly traders and other small-scale entrepreneurs.
He said such initiatives would help bring quality representation and practical assistance closer to the people.
