PRESIDENT John Dramani Mahama has launched the modern Asharami LPG Vessel in South Korea, marking a major step toward strengthening Ghana’s energy security and improving the supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) across Ghana and the wider West African region.

The colourful commissioning ceremony brought together government officials, energy sector leaders and international partners who gathered to witness what many describe as a transformative development for the region’s energy industry.

The Asharami LPG Vessel is a state-of-the-art ship designed to transport and distribute LPG safely and efficiently. With its advanced technology and dual-fuel, fully refrigerated system, the vessel will help ensure a more reliable flow of LPG to countries that depend on imports for their energy needs.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Mahama highlighted the importance of partnership and innovation in driving development. He noted that the launch of the vessel is not only a celebration of engineering excellence but also a symbol of strong collaboration among governments, industry players and global partners working together to improve energy distribution.

According to him, the Asharami LPG Vessel represents a shared commitment to safer, more efficient and responsible energy delivery that will benefit millions of people across the region. The vessel is expected to play a key role in strengthening Ghana’s LPG supply chain, improving energy access, and supporting economic growth.

It also highlights Ghana’s growing influence in regional energy development and its commitment to innovative solutions for long-term energy stability. With the launch of the Asharami LPG Vessel, Ghana takes another bold step toward a more secure, reliable and sustainable energy future for its people and neighbouring countries.
