HON. MEMBER of Parliament for Salaga South, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has urged Parliament and the country to keep alive the legacy of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.
Speaking during a tribute in Parliament, she said Nana Konadu’s work for women and children must not be treated as history but as a continuing responsibility. She reminded MPs, especially those on the Gender, Children and Social Welfare Committee, to work together to promote women’s leadership, pass laws that empower women economically, and fight discrimination in all forms.
“Ghana has lost a trailblazer, and Africa has lost a visionary. But the flame Nana Konadu lit still burns in every woman who stands taller and every policy that protects the vulnerable,” she said.

Hon. Zuwera expressed condolences to Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Yaa Asantewaa, Amina, and Kimathi, describing their late mother as a national figure whose strength and compassion shaped lives across the country.
She ended with one of Nana Konadu’s famous quotes: “Here’s to strong women. May we know them, may we be them, and may we raise them,” and prayed for the peaceful rest of the former First Lady, noting that her legacy will continue to inspire generations.
