THE AYAWASO North Constituency Women’s Organizer for the NDC, Hajia Adizatu Iddrisu, popularly known as Hajia Boya, has expressed heartfelt surprise and admiration for Hajia Farida Ali Jajah, wife of the MP for Ayawaso North and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Hon. Yussif Jajah, for her recent charitable gesture towards widows and the elderly in the constituency.
Through her charitable group, the Farijah Foundation, Hajia Farida donated bags of 50kg rice and GHS 500 cash each to widows and aged women in the constituency — a move that Hajia Boya described as “motherly love” and a rare show of compassion.
In an interview with NationalTymes.com, Hajia Boya said, “This kind of support has never happened in our constituency before. Since the days when Ayawaso North was part of Ayawaso East, no MP’s wife has ever shown this level of generosity to the people.”

She noted that while past leaders’ spouses may have offered support in smaller ways, none has ever gone this far. “Women, especially widows, are really suffering. After their husbands die, most of their families don’t care for the children they leave behind. This kind of help brings real hope,” she added.
According to her, what makes the gesture even more touching is that it was done without political motivation. “Hajia Farida didn’t wait for elections to come close before helping, unlike what we see often when people do things to buy votes.”

Hajia Boya also revealed that the Farijah Foundation is planning another impactful initiative — a support programme for school dropouts and SHS graduates who want to learn a trade or start a small business. “She wants to help these youth become useful in society, instead of being left behind,” she said.
Describing the act as “genuine love,” Hajia Boya called on all residents of the constituency to support Hajia Farida and her husband with prayers. “May Allah bless Hajia Farida and her husband for thinking of the poor and showing love where it’s needed most,” she concluded.

The Farijah Foundation continues to win praise for its quiet but impactful work in the community, offering real solutions to everyday struggles.
