ACE SPORTS journalist and Political Communications lecturer at the Islamic University College, Mohammed Aminu Lamptey, has expressed heartfelt excitement over the appointment of Alhaji Mubarick Massawudu as Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA).
In a statement to Nationaltymes.com, Lamptey described the news as overwhelming, noting that the appointment of the former NDC parliamentary aspirant for Asawase was both well-deserved and strategic.
“Mubarick is a young, ambitious business executive with international repute. His commitment and loyalty to the NDC, from childhood to contesting the Asawase seat against the indefatigable Hon. Muntaka Mubarak, is commendable,” Lamptey stated.
He added that Mubarick’s new role is expected to strengthen the administrative leadership at GMA, driving efficiency and growth in Ghana’s maritime sector.
“I’m personally excited by this good news, especially coming from a visionary and result-oriented president like H.E. John Dramani Mahama. This is one of his finest appointments,” he said.

The appointment forms part of President Mahama’s broader efforts to inject fresh energy into state institutions by empowering competent and forward-looking young leaders.
Alhaji Mubarick Massawudu is widely respected within the NDC and beyond for his grassroots engagement, business acumen, and political maturity.
Lamptey concluded by encouraging him to embrace diligence, research, and humility in his new role to make a lasting impact at the Ghana Maritime Authority.
