DAVID SITSOPE Tamakloe has been elected President of the Private Newspaper and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) following a keenly contested national executive election held in Accra.

Tamakloe secured victory over his contender, Awudu Mahama, by polling 86 out of 120 total votes cast, in what many described as a defining moment for the association. His win signals a renewed hope for the strengthening of private print and digital media in Ghana.

Other winners in the election include:
– Michael Agyei Antwi, elected Vice President with 88 out of 121 votes;
– Prince Kawuunda, elected Organising Secretary with 58 votes;
– Naana Aklerh Kubi I, elected Financial Secretary/Treasurer with 104 votes;
– Public Affairs and International Relations Officer secured 109 of 120 yes votes.

In his victory speech, Mr. Tamakloe expressed gratitude to delegates, members, and all stakeholders for their support. He praised the commitment shown during the electoral process and called for unity and collaboration to advance the association’s mission.

“There is a lot to be done to position PRINPAG well within the media industry,” he said. “We will not disappoint you. We will serve dutifully.”
