THE ADUTOR Health Centre in the South Tongu Municipality is undergoing a major upgrade into a modern polyclinic with key facilities including an Emergency Ward, Outpatient Department (OPD), Pharmacy, and Laboratory.

The project, spearheaded by Assembly Member Hon. Promise Koku Agbanyo, is aimed at improving healthcare delivery for over 6,000 residents in more than 25 surrounding communities.
“We’re excited to see this important project take shape,” Hon. Agbanyo said. “It’s currently at the lintel level and will soon move into roofing. I appeal to all stakeholders to support this final push”.
“….we’ve raised ¢130,000 out of the ¢500,000 target, and I have submitted proposals to both the MP and DCE for further assistance,” he indicated.
The health centre’s expansion was launched during its 45th-anniversary celebration in September 2024, themed “Transforming Lives Through Health: The Role of Adutor Health Centre.”

While initial fundraising efforts showed promise, additional support is urgently needed to complete the work.
Hon. Agbanyo also appealed to residents, especially those in the diaspora, and well-meaning individuals to contribute.

Donations can be made to the Adutor Development Account at Agave Rural Bank, Dabala Branch (A/C No: 5081210000357321) or via MTN Mobile Money to 0242550157 (Promise Kwaku Agbanyo).
Established in 1979, the health centre currently provides OPD, maternal and child health, antenatal care, and outreach services.
However, poor infrastructure—leaking roofs, weak ceilings, and an unpaved compound—continues to affect service delivery, especially during the rainy season.

The community remains committed to upgrading its health services, as shown through recent initiatives such as a free eye screening and surgery programme, organized in collaboration with Hon. Maxwell Kwame Lukutor and volunteer medical teams.
