THE WEEKEND Community Clean-Up Initiative in the Sogakofe South Electoral Area, led by Assembly Member Hon. William Kofi Gleku, has entered its second week with strong participation from residents, especially the youth.

On Sunday, July 20, 2025, residents—guided by lead coordinator Kazzy—cleared overgrown bushes along roadsides and footpaths to improve visibility and reduce safety risks.

The initiative also received financial support, with GH¢100 donations each from Emmanuel Quarshie (Volta Regional NPP Deputy Organiser) and Dutenya Kezia. Hon. Gleku thanked them and encouraged others to support.

“We’re grateful for the backing so far and urge more residents to get involved. Together, we can make our community cleaner and safer,” he said.

Hon. Gleku pledged his commitment to continue the exercise every weekend until the entire area is cleared, calling on residents to take ownership of the initiative.

The clean-up drive stands as a strong example of community-led development through collective effort.
