AYAWASO West Wuogon MP and Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. John Setor Dumelo, has donated 500 bags of 5kg rice to the University of Ghana to support students facing food insecurity.
The donation, made on Thursday morning through the Office of the Dean of Students, was received by Prof. Rosina Kyeremanten, Dean of Students Affairs.
Hon. Dumelo said the gesture forms part of his contribution to the University of Ghana Food Bank initiative, which supports financially vulnerable students struggling to access three meals a day.
“As a former student and now MP for this area, I understand the challenges many face. This is one of many ways I can show that I dey for you,” he said.
The university has in recent months stepped up efforts to support needy students, and the food bank continues to receive donations from individuals and organizations committed to student welfare.
