
THE Greater Accra Regional Minister and Member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Food, Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs, Hon. Linda Akwele Ocloo, has taken part in a vital familiarization tour of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and its related agencies.
The visit aimed to strengthen understanding of key agricultural programmes and support efforts to transform Ghana’s food systems.

During engagements with Agriculture Minister Hon. Eric Opoku and Deputy Minister Hon. John Setor Dumelo, the team received updates on strategic initiatives such as the Feed Ghana programme, irrigation-driven farming, and steps being taken to modernize poultry production.

The team also visited the West African Food System Resilience Project (FSRP), where they reviewed innovations focused on boosting agri-resilience and strengthening agricultural value chains.

Hon. Linda Ocloo reaffirmed the Committee’s support for institutional reforms, improved agro-extension services, and mechanization efforts, describing them as key pillars for achieving sustainable agricultural development in Ghana.
