PRESIDENT JOHN Dramani Mahama has vowed to reset Ghana’s governance landscape by prioritizing accountability, constitutional reform and an aggressive fight against corruption.
Speaking at his inauguration, Mr. Mahama outlined his administration’s commitment to restoring public trust through transparency and decisive action.
“Ghanaians have sent a clear message through the polls — they demand better governance and a system that serves the people,” Mahama said. He acknowledged the challenges ahead but expressed confidence in his ability to lead Ghana towards a brighter future.
Mr. Mahama announced a 120-day action plan that includes 26 specific reforms aimed at stabilizing the economy, improving governance and ensuring accountability in public offices. Key among these reforms is a comprehensive review of Ghana’s constitution to address outdated provisions and enhance efficiency in governance.
The president also reiterated his zero-tolerance policy on corruption, promising to strengthen anti-corruption institutions and hold officials accountable for their actions. “Accountability must be the bedrock of our democracy. There will be no sacred cows,” he declared.
Mahama’s governance reset is designed to rebuild the confidence of Ghanaians in their institutions, fostering a culture of transparency and fairness that will drive the nation forward.
