Dr. Lawrence Appiah hinted that after Vice-President Mahamoudu Bawumia helped Nana Akufo-Addo to mess up Ghana’s economy and created excruciating hardship, he (Dr. Bawumia) said he can only solve Ghana’s economic woes when he is voted for as President.
According to the founder of the Diaspora Progressive Movement (DPM), USA, Dr. Appiah, In 2016, then Candidate Akufo-Addo said he was bringing political messiah (ie. Dr. Mahamufu Bawumia) who was coming to rescue Ghana from the economic hardships the country was facing under President John Dramani Mahama.
He indicated that Nana Akufo-Addo brought Dr. Bawumia mainly to help stabilize the cedi, because to him (Nana Addo), the cedi had become “hatahatahata”, meaning, the cedi was very light in value. At that time, a dollar was GHc3.80. Nana Addo told Ghanaians that one dollar at GHC3.80 was due to bad governance; today, the dollar is over GHC 17.00, Dr. Appiah opined.
He said the above meant that Alhaji Dr. Bawumia was brought in to do a specific job for President Akufo-Addo and Ghana. “Now, look at how messy the economy is, and Dr. Bawumia is telling us that he will come up with bold decisions to solve the problems. What a beautiful nonsense”, Dr. Appiah marvelled.
Dr. Bawumia, Head of Economic Management Team (EMT) has a specific responsibility as the Vice-President to fix Ghana’s economic woes today. So if he is running away from fixing the bad economy today, how do we know he won’t running away from fixing the economy if he is made the President?, Dr. Appiah quizzed.
Dr. Bawumiah, as head of the EMT introduced the E-Levy, betting tax and other nuisance taxes; and today he is telling Ghanaians that when he becomes president, he will cancel E-Levy, COVID and borler taxes, and all the nuisance taxes. “He is craftily and thievery coming to Ghanaians the same way Nana Addo came in 2016”, Dr. Appiah warned.
In a related issue the Chairman of DPM, USA, Dr. Lawrence Appiah, hinted that the free SHS campaign had failed Nana Akufo-Addo in 2020, so he has abandoned it. Because they have set Dr. Bawumia to fail, they have placed it at the center of his campaign. He indicated that Dr. Bawumia is now telling us he will do some bold adjustments to the Free SHS; is that also not cancellation?
When Alhaji Bawumia was asked in an interview why he hasn’t implemented the things he is talking about, he looked straight in the camera and said if he does everything now, as Vice-President, he wouldn’t have anything to do, as President. This means the hardships on Ghanaians is Bawumiah-made so he can have something to do if he becomes president, DPM Chairman noted.
Nana Addo was better than Dr. Mahamudu Bawumiah in 2016; Dr. Bawumiah is better than Nana Akufo-Addo in 2024. This should tell Ghanaians that they are both “criminals, corrupt and scammers”. Dr. Bawumia doesn’t deserve your vote. He is a “confident trickster”, Dr. Lawrence Appiah maintained.
