REALISING THAT there is no way he could be getting any attention from Zangos, Alhaji Dr. Mahamoudu Bawumia (DMB) has kept paying hugely just for favour from them (Zangonei), Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar, former MASLOC Deputy CEO, has asserted.
According to him, anytime Dr. Alhaji Bawumia visits any Zango community in Ghana, announced or unannounced, he does not get the attention he wants like former President John Dramani Mahama always get.
Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar cited when former President John Dramani Mahama appeared at the National Mosque, Kaokudi – Accra where Dr. Bawumia was seated, the whole programme became a standstill; and the crowd turned on JM to welcome him.
This makes him (DMB) affirmed his intentions to bag money through his assistants to be sharing to Muslim leaders for them to also accord him (DMB) that kind of attention and favour, Alhaji Abubakar alleged.
He appealed to Ghanaians not to allow themselves for Dr. Bawumia to buy their conscience with state funds at expense of the poor people in the country.
Speaking to Power FM morning show host, Prince Kwame Minkah, Alhaji Mustapha explained that anytime the leaders of NDC and the NPP were invited to the chief Imam’s event it creates tension.
To this, the outfit of the chief Imam held a meeting prior to the just ended Maulid of the chief Imam at Fadama, and warned the two political parties; NDC, NPP not to bus anybody to the event.
This was to avert the usual tensions that come up anytime the glamorous supporters of the two parties were around. This warning did not go down well with Alhaji Bawumia. So he clandestinely arranged and bused people purported to be Zangonees to cheer him up at the Maulid.
He supported his claim with a video that captured a bus full of people purported to be Zangonees and conveyed them to go and cheer DMB at Chief Imam’s Maulid at Fadama in Accra.
In the video, some one was busily coaching the purported Zango people in twi in the bus; to only go cheer Dr. Alhaji Bawumia up at the Maulid with the NPP panephinaliers.
These buses he said were placed at vantage points such as Concar, near Maamobi, Madina and other places to pick the people to the Maulid, where each person in the bus is given Ghc50.00.
Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar pointed out that the reason for all these were that, at the all Maulids, Mr. John Mahama (JM) gets natural favour and unflinching attention from the crowd.
This is one of the reasons Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo would not attend a programme, former President JM will attend; and since DMB cannot stand cheers and attention JM would command, it behooves on DMB team to do something for him (Bawumia) to also attract same cheers, Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar pointed out.
