PRESIDENT OF ACCRA Archdiocese and Head of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Kwashiman in the Greater Accra Region, Father Henry Ahorlu has urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to ensure its activities are transparent.

According to Father Ahorlu, this general elections slated for December 7, 2024 is crutial and the referees (EC) must seen not to be embarking on exercises that would be tantamount to suspicion.
He pointed out that Ghana in known as the beckon of peace; and therefore this peace could only be achieved when the Electoral Commission (EC) is transparent, fair, firm and just.

He made this statement in an interview with Nationaltymes.com in Accra during the first day of the voter’s exhibition exercise across the country, coupled with avoidable problems.
Father Ahorlu of Kwashiman Parish indicated that, “God has blessed this country and we also need to consolidate that blessing by conducting ourselves in a peaceful way as we go to the polls to vote”.

He was quick to iterate that peace is always as a result of transparency, fairness and justice, and that’s the result all Ghanaians are looking for.
“Once everybody sees what is happening and all of that, then peace is assured. Everybody will be at rest that the EC has conducted this elections in all fairness”, he stated. Adding therefore, that every processes by EC must be transparent, and nobody would take the election to court or create any violence because he/she is not satisfied with the outcome.

This would help to sustain the peace, and Ghana will continue to remain the beckon of peace in the sub-region. And to uphold peace-loving country through what we’re going to do during this year’s elections, he admonished.
“…. I wish Ghana a peaceful, credible and violent free elections 2024”, Father Henry Ahorlu prayed.
