AS GHANA PREPARES for the upcoming voter exhibition exercise from August 20-27, concerns linger about the accuracy and credibility of the voters’ register. The Electoral Commission’s (EC) recent mob-up exercise and failure to address the bloated register have raised questions about the commission’s competence and commitment to a free, fair, and transparent election in 2024.

DEPUTY ZANGO CAUCUS COORDINATOR, USA.
The analysis of the voters register below:
▪︎Total Population: 34.7 million
▪︎Population under 18: 16 million
▪︎Population ≥ 18: 18.7 million
▪︎Registered Voters: 18.7 million.
reveals an implausible scenario where all adult populations in Ghana are registered, indicating a potential crisis. The EC’s reliance on biographic data alone for the exhibition exercise falls short of ensuring the trustworthiness of the electoral roll.Biometric verification devices must be placed in all voter exhibition centers.
Incorporating biometric verification devices (BVDs) at all exhibition centers is sine qua non to guarantee the accuracy and security of the electoral roll. Biometric verification offers numerous benefits, including:
– Ensuring only eligible voters are in the register.
– Confirming biographic data matches biometric fingerprint data
– Identifying and addressing biometric verification challenges
– Reducing disputes and allegations of voter fraud on election day.
The EC’s lack of urgency in addressing these concerns and incorporating biometric verification is alarming. Ghana’s electoral process must align with global standards to enhance its credibility and reputation. You must be verify biometrically to authentic your biographic data confirmation or otherwise.

The upcoming voter exhibition exercise presents an opportunity to rectify the errors and ensure a credible electoral roll. The EC must prioritize the inclusion of biometric verification devices in all exhibition centers to guarantee a peaceful and transparent election on December 7, 2024.
