DORKUCHO FAMILY of Tetekupo Kajanya of the Akuaku Gate of the Kabiaweyumu Clan has installed the Former Managing Editor of the Transporter Newspaper, Ebenezer Akuaku as a Divisional Chief for the Clan.
Mr. Akuaku was installed Divisional chief (Wetsoyi) with the stool name “NENE DORKUCHO OSAKONOR IV“, after he was nominated by the Dorkucho family of Tetekupo at Kajanya near Tamatoku of Akuaku gate in Ada.
The position of divisional chief (Wetsoyi) of the Akuaku gate is occupied by two (2) families ie. Okronipa family of Azizanya and Dorkucho family of Tetekupo of Kajanya near Tamatoku, Ada in the Greater Accra Region.
The event marks the arrangement which arosed from the laid down customs and tradition. Okronipa family was first to occupy the position followed by Dorkucho family of Tetekupo in order of merit. Nene Dorkucho Osakonor IV, from Dorkucho family of Tetekupo, Kajanya succeeds Nene Tetteh Osakonor III from Okronipa family of Azizanya.
Nene Dorkucho Osakonor IV sworn allegiance to ensure he strengthens the existing peace and unity between the two families and help to ensure human resource development within the families improve. He also added that he is for anything that would bring peaceful co-existence and development amongst the people of Ada, especially the youth.
He pledged to offer his unwavering support to all the good plans and projects of Djetse Nene Kabu Abram Akuaku III, paramount Chief of Ada Traditional Area.
According to Mr. Tetteh Dorkutso, chief scribe to the Nene Abram Akuaku III, in an interview with Nationaltymes.com, two brothers – Ogbeweku and Dorkutso established the Tetekupo family at Kajanya near Tamatoku in the 16th century. This gate, he said produced Nene Abram Kabu Akuaku III, the current Paramount Chief of Ada Traditional Area.
