THE ONLY government that can diagnose the ailments of a previous administration but cannot see the mess around it, is the Nana Akufo-Addo/Dr. Mahamoudu Bawumiah government.
They have destroyed our economy, environment, education, sports, security agencies, independent state institutions etc.
Gone were the days when a boxing bout could momentarily let us forget our anger caused by hunger, and a Black Star’s victory could move us to the streets without “giving a damn” to the cost of fuel. The Black Starlets or Black Meteors could keep the whole nation awake – Both the rich and the poor.
Where did we go wrong? As our local parlance goes:
Everything scatter, scatter!!!
Everything jagga, jagga!!!
Nothing anymore fascinates us or brings us together as Ghanaians. The only thing that keeps us talking is the hyenas we have placed in charge of our sheep. Sometimes, the perpetrators of crime are not as annoying as their defenders. Bizarre justifications!!!
I don’t blame Bawumia when he said sika nu wᴐ hᴐ. Better managers of the economy who posted profits from the Bank of Ghana will make you feel that the “monkey cracking nuts with its buttocks” is normal. Your buttocks are now swallowing and the nuts in your efforts to crack them.
For admitting that during the previous era na sika nu wᴐ hᴐ and today, the sika nu cannot be seen, everyone will know who are the better managers of the country’s economy.
Let someone advise the Board and Management of the Bank of Ghana to keep mute if they don’t have anything meaningful to tell Ghanaians. How can they justify a $250 million investment in a new BOG Head Office at a time the economy is sinking fast and deep – with the excuse that the current BOG Head Office is at an earthquake-prone area of Accra?
Sample citizens’ opinions to find out which type of death they will prefer in Ghana today: Dying out of hunger or dying out of an earthquake – which has not occurred in Ghana for over 80 years.
In this mess, the Bank of Ghana still has guts to invite a section of the Media for a PR job!!! They would not save the crumbs for better things to redeem their image.
If some people can applaud house helps who illegally relocated huge sums of money from their bosses, then we are getting to dangerous heights. “it has reached our neck, as our village relatives say.
When angry citizens were expecting “you-know-who” to shut up, she also chose to write to threaten Media houses. Anokwa!!!
It will take our collective efforts to clear and cleanse our country turned into a crime scene. It will not come easy, I must admit. Ghana will rise again. There are better days ahead.
