THE OPPOSITION National Democratic Congress (NDC) will go to the polls to elect presidential and parliamentary candidates to represent the party at the various constituencies across Ghana on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
La Dade-Kotopon is one of the constituencies in the Greater Accra Region with the seating Member of Parliament facing two other aspirants in the tomorrow contest at Zenith University College.
The incumbent Membr of Parliament (MP), Rita Naa Odoley Sowah will this time around come face to face with Jake Adei Kwei and Nii Armah Ashitey aka Oshiapem. And the two gentlemen are not living stone unturn in their campaign across the constituency to make the incumbent, Naa Odoley Sowah a one term MP.
But that notwithstanding, the majority of delegates in La, likened the two Parliamentary Candidate (PC) aspirants, Jake and Nii Ashitey (Oshiapem) to a team of two billy goats challenging a huge elephant in a tag of war contest.
When Rita Naa Odoley Sowah was filing her nomination at the Greater Accra NDC Regional Office, the delegates who followed her told Nationaltymes.com that there would be no way any of the two contestants could beat her in the contest slated for Saturday, May 13, 2023.
According to them, the incumbent MP, Madam Rita Odoley Sowah is presenting them in parliament whilst her party, the NDC is in opposition; meanwhile, she is doing her best as an MP for her constituent.
They mentioned Madam Odoley Sowah training and providing tools to the trainees who passed out successfully. Some young ladies went through apprenticeship training in dressmaking, others were trained in various baker confectioneries.
Others, despite their political colours benefited from the leadership of the NDC MP, Hon Rita Naa Odoley Sowah in La Dade-KotoponConstituency.
The intention was to make them self-employed young ladies in the communities in La, they added. Some older women also took part in learning how various baked foods are prepared to also ean a living.
Nationaltymes.com further gathered that the Hon. MP for the people of La Dade-Kotopon, Madam Rita Naa Odoley Sowah will whitewash her respected contenders between 78 and 85 percent margin.
