The problem has been a serious concern for the NDC fraternity including the South Tongu Member of Parliament (MP), Kobena Mensah Woyome as well as the elders of the party in the area.

Elders of the party led by Mr. Agbesi Woyome in collaboration with the Constituency Executives and the Hon. MP, Mr. Mensah Woyome held an emergency meeting with the leadership of the NDC Regional Executives led by the Regional Chairman, Mr. Mawutor Agbavitor, his Vice Egypt Kudoto, Regional Secretary – Hon. James Gunu, Regional Organiser – Siki Abibu with the support of the party’s lawyer – Mr. Gunu amongst others to resolve the issue.

Following the gravity of the matter, a few of the National Executives took part in the dialogue which resolved the matter amicably. To this effect, the members of these 5 branches at the Sogasco/Kpekpo agreed to allow the old executives to go unopposed to continue with their work at their various branches.

This understanding amongst them to contest unoppose, brushed aside the earlier announced by the leadership to conduct the branch elections on 17th and 18th February 2023, which would have been supervised by the joint South Tongu Constituency Elections Committee (CEC) and the Regional Elections Committee (REC).
