A young man has fled from family members who have been after him for engaging in gayism.
38-year old Ayerteye Daniel, was on December 28, 2021, caught having anal sexual intercourse with another young man at Tsita, in the Oti Region of Ghana. The duo narrowly escaped the wrath of neighbours who could have possibly assaulted them to death.
The plight of Ayerteye Daniel, had worsened when his own family members who could have protected him even though their culture and tradition frown on the act, rather threatened to eliminate him if found, because he has exposed the family to ridicule and social stigma.
Though nobody knows the whereabout of the young man since December last year, information Nationaltymes.com gathered indicates that a man he had worked with took him to rescue. However, it is unclear exactly where the gay escapee might be hiding in the last ten months.
Further information has it that, there is no trace of his partner, Eric Dzidoula, who many believe might also be seeking refuge at a place in the countryside far from relations to avoid a possible attack by his pursuers and relatives.
It is believed that the unheard state of Dzidoula Eric, since the incident, contributes to Ayerteye Daniel’s on keep from relatives all this while.
LGBTIQA+ is a taboo in the Ghanaian and as well as African society such that, the practice is regarded undeserving of any rational human being. The subject has been condemned by almost every African country at the mention of it since it is anti-cultural and counter traditional across the continent.
Though the Ghanaian constitution does not really criminalise same sex affairs, is it conventionally unacceptable and largely a taboo before every tribe of the country.
