June 4th Uprising” Commemoration in Ghana is an important day to the people and the National Democratic Congress, NDC as a party and reminds them of probity and accountability in all dimensions.
The NDC in the Eastern Region salute the Cadre members and join them in the celebration of the revolution that has given birth to the stable Republic Ghana is enjoying currently.
According to the former Eastern Regional NDC Secretary who is eyeing the Chairmanship position in the area, Dr. Mark Oliver Kevor, 10th June would also be 30 years since the NDC evolved to a successful and most democratised political party in Ghana and beyond.
“Let me first of all congratulate the NDC on this special occasion. For three decades, the party (NDC) has been at the forefront of perpetuating a stable and functional democratic Ghana. It is no mere coincidence that this has been the longest Republic in the history of Ghana; we are proud of this collective achievement”, he posited.
He paid a profound tribute to the founding members of the NDC from the Cadre Corp some of whom have lost their lives along the way and the four (4) surviving ones namely: Comrades Major(Rtd) Ted Tetteh; Kwame Amfo-Ntiri; Alhaji Abu Mohammed (alias Commander) and Asante Yamoah (alias efie mpo nie). “I salute them for believing in the NDC 30 years ago, and appending their signatures to the official documents that legitimised us as a political party”, Dr. Kevor stated.
Dr. Oliver Kevor, Eastern Regional NDC Chairman hopeful argued that NDC’s record in the region is unmatched and every community bears witness to the impact.
He made the revelation during the region’s anniversary to mark the June 4th Uprising in the country, he stated that, “We (NDC) have led developments in every part of the region without discrimination and have been concerned with providing public goods to the remotest parts of the region”.
“…..on this special occasion, I say ayekoo to all our branch, constituency and Regional Executives (both past and present) and all members in the Eastern Region”, he acknowledged.
He also used the June 4th Commemoration to urge other disappointed Ghanaians to join the NDC to provide them with the real positive change they are currently crave for.
“This special occasion must be celebrated! We must be proud of our growth and achievements; every constituency should mark it symbolically and eventfully”, Dr. Oliver Kevor suggested.
The NDC Eastern Regional chairman hopeful indicated that towards the June 10, celebration, as usual of him, his team has supported every Constituency with a token of Ghc 500 as a seed to raise funds towards the climax of the celebration on that day, 10th June, 2022.
To this effect, Dr. Mark Oliver Kevor urged all others to reach out to the constituencies and donate towards the successful celebration.
He directed all the Constituency Chairmen to contact the Deputy Eastern Regional Treasurer on Monday, 6th June 2022 for further details.
