The Adenta Constituency National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Organiser in the Greater Accra Region, Eric Nii Lomoh has donated 20 motor bikes and a 16-seater bus to the constituency to raise funds to run the party’s office in the area.
The donations were part of Nii Lomoh’s efforts to help reduce the hardship tripled by President Akuffo-Addo’s government amongst the youth in the country.
The move was to help create job for the teeming youth in the constituency who are faced with hardship the Akuffo-Addo/Bawumia led New Patriotic Party (NPP) created in their last five years in office.
Presenting the items to the constituency office, Nii Lomoh indicated that this forms part of his promises made to the youth when he was contesting for the position.
“As you may recalled, I made a promise that I would buy these things to the youth when they vote for me, today am fulfilling the promise I made to you”, he stressed.
He said a foundation as been registered known as “Adenta Progressive Youth Foundation (APYF)” which is charged with the responsibility to set out modalities to distribute the vehicles; the youth leader hinted that there would be a creteria for the selection of beneficiaries who are expected to work and pay to enable the committee to procure more of the bikes for others to also benefit.
Eric Nii Lomoh further indicated that profit from the proceeds of motorbikes would be used in running the party activities in the constituency.
A committee by the foundation is charged with oversight responsibility of monitoring and distribution of the motorbikes to the party members.
The programme was graced by a number of party dignitaries from National and the Region Secutariates took their turn to address the event.
The main speaker of the event, Mr. Peter Boamah Otukuno, Deputy General Secretary of the party, commended Nii Lomoh for his bold step in helping build a strong party at the constituency level.
The Deputy National chief scribe of the NDC maintained that if every executive could win one person to the party on monthly basis, the NDC in four years would be victorious in every elections.
He called for unity among the ranks and file of the party and charged everyone not to make insults a weapon to destroy each other and tagging aheard of the party internal elections.
On his part, the National Youth Organizer, George Opare Addo (Pablo), his Deputy Edem Agbana and Greater Accra Deputy Youth Organizer, Amos Blessing Amoase and Deputy National Youth Organizer, speech commended Nii for his commitment to the youth wing of the party.
They urged other invited party executives from Constituencies to emulate what Nii Lomoh has done to make the party attractive even for the floating voters in their various constituencies.
