One of the Ghana’s business tycoon, Alhaji Sheriff Abdul-Nasiru has stated that the country’s Finance Minister has failed miserably and needs assistance immediately to rescue the economy from sinking further.
According to the business tycoon in an interview with Nationaltymes.com in Accra, the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta should have to meet and beg the experience former finance minister Seth Terkpe for help.
To this, Alhaji Sheriff added that he is prepared to lead the failed Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta to meet Mr. Seth Terkpe to come immediately to help salvage the country’s economy from total collapse.
Alhaji Sheriff, a National Executive Committee (NEC) member of the NDC has described the performance of the current Finance Minister, cousin to President Akufo-Addo, Ofori Atta as abysmal and needs experienced hands.
The NDC kingpin iterated that the country is currently in a mess due to lack of proper managers of the economy by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP); and called on Ofori Atta’s resignation immediately from office if he wont sought for help.
Alhaji admonished the Minister to swallow his pride and call for professional advice from Hon. Seth Terkpe, his predecessor. He promised to help if the minister would send a delagation to meet the former Finance Minister, whom he (Alhaji) believes would assist to rescue the Ghana’s economy from the current mess.
Following the failure of Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, the NDC NEC member was also quick to remind Mr. Ofori Atta of his unfair criticism of the Mahama administration.
“You critisied the then NDC led Mahama administration unfairly, today, what has changed? he quizzed; after introducing many taxes, you also want to introduce an obnoxious E-levy, why?”, he probed.
“…..the finance minister must know that his days of honey moon are over and he is in his 6th year and he still can’t fix the country economy”, Alhaji Sherif argued.
He further fired the minister of been proud, and refuses to succumb and listened to anybody and experienced individuals or stakeholders to help rescue the country from the current economic shackles.
The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta in few days ago has admitted that the country is broke out of his failed economy and he needs help to rescue the economy from the “Intensive Care Unit, ICU”.
