The Ga West (Amasaman) Constituency branch of the opposition NDC in the Greater Accra Region is on fire over who sold out the seat to the NPP MP in the 2020 general elections.

NDC for the first time since 1993 lost the Amasaman seat painfully due to greed to the ruling NPP MP, Kwesi Afrifa-Mensah, in “skirt and blouse” vote in the last general elections.
Nationaltymes.com sourced that the NDC in the Constituency are busily trading serious verbal assaults and accusing themselves of selling the seat out to the NPP MP, Mr. Afrifa-Mensah who won for the first time for NPP in the area.

The accusations were that some Constituency and Ward Coordinators in cahoot with some branches at Manhean, Nsakina and few other areas assisted the NPP MP to win in these areas because they have problem with the composition of the Constituency executives and the NDC PC, Sedem Afenyo.
To this effect, the NDC executives in charge of the aforementioned wards and branches decided to relinquish the seat to the NPP against their “beloved” NDC in the last general election for their “monetary” benefits at the expense of the hardwork of others.

In another dangerous move some party folks are embarking on, in the Constituency is the push to return the former NDC MP, Emmanuel Nii Laryea Okai against whoever will show interest to contest the primaries; whilst others are also aiking for a new face.
National Tymes was hinted that immediately the former MP, Nii Laryea lost the primaries, he refused to assist Mr. Sedem, the elected NDC PC until he saw the need to do so at the eleventh hour when he was prevailed upon.

This portal further gathered that another fight was about who did or did not qualify to contest for Assembly elections; and who does not want to help who in his intent in their respective upcoming electoral elections.
Following the in fighting, the last Assembly Elections for instance, has affected the chances of their candidates who contested and lost Manhean, Achiaman, Sarpeiman and some other places.
In an interview with Nationaltymes.com one of the Constituency executives who spoke on anonymity, expressed regret that his people are not thinking of how the NDC will reorganise peacefully mainly to recapture power in 2024 for Mr. John Dramani Mahama to become President.
Today, Ghanaians are at the crossroad because the NDC has no number to fight to stop the NPP’s threat to pass the e-levy due to the lost of Amasaman seat as well as other seats.
